Anarchic

This collection takes inspiration from the deconstruction of the heavy metal subculture from a haute couture point of view. This subculture wants to make a statement, have a certain shock value, and focuses heavily on fabric manipulation, so I wanted to make sure not to lose that. Couture techniques often involve hand work and fabric manipulations so I focused on this. I used tweezers to pull out the warp yarns from laminated and wax coated denim to create a distressed look and expose the skin, the shape took inspiration from metal jewellery. I also experimented with laser cutting to emphasise certain shapes or iterations of my logo.
